2 Year Old (Little Explorers) – Transitional Kindergarten
We can’t wait for you to experience the nurturing and joyful environment at KC Preschool. We invite Little Explorers (2 Year Olds) through Transitional Kindergarten into our warm and vibrant preschool community. Each step of our program is thoughtfully designed to support your child’s cognitive, social, and emotional growth in a joyful and engaging environment.
Application Process for KC Preschool
The first step is to visit our preschool campus. We offer personal, one-on-one tours where you’ll meet a member of our team, see our classrooms in action, and learn more about what makes our program unique.

After a tour, families can join our Preschool Waitlist. This ensures we have your information on file and can reach out as space becomes available.
Join the Preschool WaitlistWhen a spot opens up for your child’s age group, we will contact you with an invitation to enroll. To accept the offer, families will complete a registration form and pay a non-refundable, non-transferable deposit to secure their child’s placement.
Preschool Admissions Timeline

Preschool admissions are rolling throughout the year, and enrollment is based on availability. Touring early and joining the waitlist promptly gives your family the best chance of securing a space when it becomes available.

Once you have joined the waitlist, our team will reach out to you once space is available in your child’s age group.

If you're already exploring Kindergarten and beyond, one of the best ways to secure your child’s future at Kids Connection is to begin in our Preschool Program. Many of our elementary students start in our early years, where they build strong foundations and a deep sense of belonging that carries with them through their KC journey.

We’re so glad you’re considering Kids Connection for your child’s elementary school journey. Our application process is designed to give us a chance to get to know your child — and for your family to get to know our school in a meaningful and personal way.

Application Process for New Families to KC

Kids Connection uses the Ravenna platform for elementary school applications. Through Ravenna, you’ll complete your application, upload required documents, and schedule important admissions steps.

Complete the online application and submit the required forms. You’ll be able to track progress and submit supporting documents all in one place. As part of this application, we ask for the following:

Applicants for Grades 1-5 should submit a report card or progress report.

Applicants for Kindergarten can submit photos of student work, writing samples, or art projects.

Why do we ask for these?

Documents like these help us to understand your child as a learner and community member.

After applying, our admissions team will work with you to schedule a time for your child to visit our campus.

Kindergarten Applicants will participate in a fun, small group "playdate" style activity with our Kindergarten teachers, typically on a weekday morning in February.

Grades 1–5 Applicants will visit campus for a half day, spend time in the classroom, enjoy snacks and recess outside, and meet with a teacher for their academic assessment.

Adults / Guardians will be invited to chat virtually with our Elementary Head of School, Ms. Ganes, for a conversation about your educational goals for your child, who you are as a family, and answer questions about KC.
Admissions Timeline
Kids Connection follows a primary admissions season with an application deadline in January and admissions decisions released in early March. After the initial season, rolling admissions are offered based on space availability.

Current KC Preschool Student Applicants for Kindergarten​

Families coming from our own KC Pre-K or Transitional Kindergarten program follow a slightly different process then outlined above. Please read these details carefully to understand how your Kindergarten application process works.
​
Application: There is no need for a formal application for your child! Students who are ready for Kindergarten are given priority registration in January, with first access to available spots before we open enrollment to new applicants.
​
Assessment for Kindergarten Readiness: Our Pre-K and TK teachers conduct a readiness assessment as part of the regular assessment cycle with all students, and recommendations are shared with our Elementary team to support placement decisions.
